बहनों की कहानी
एक छोटे से गाँव में दो बहने रहती थी। एक बहुत ही ज़्यादा समझदार और दूसरी बहुत नकचढ़ी। बड़ी वाली बहन बहुत मेहनती थी बहुत दयालु थी, सबकी मदद करती थी। वही दूसरी ओर छोटी बहन एक दम घमंडी। एक रोज़ बड़ी बहन पानी भरने के लिए नदी के पास गयी, वहाँ उसने देखा कि एक बूढ़ी औरत पानी की प्यास से तड़प रही थी।
ये देख बड़ी बहन को बहुत दया आयी और उसने अपना भरा हुआ पानी उसे पिला दिया। एक दम से वो बूढ़ी औरत एक बहुत खूबसूरत परी में बदल गयी और उसने बड़ी बहन को वरदान दिया जब भी तुम कुछ बोलोगी तो तुम्हारे मुँह से हीरे मोती गिरेंगे। ये सुनकर बड़ी बहन बहुत ख़ुश हुई और जेसे ही उसने बोलना शुरू किया उसके मुँह से हीरे मोती गिरने लगे।
यह देखकर घरवाले बहुत ख़ुश हुए और बड़ी बहन को बहुत ज़्यादा प्यार करने लगे। ये देख छोटी बहन बड़ी बहन से जलने लगी और पता लगाने लगी कि यह केसे हुआ। बड़ी बहन ने बताया कि उसे एक परी ने वरदान दिया है। यह सुनके छोटी बहन को लालच आया और वह भी निकल पड़ी नदी के किनारे पानी भरने लेकिन उसे वहाँ कोई परी नहीं दिखाई दी।
उसे वही बूढ़ी औरत दिखाई दी जो पानी की प्यासी थी। उसने छोटी बहन से पानी माँगा लेकिन उसने औरत का अपमान किया और पानी देने से मना कर दिया और कहा यह पानी सुनदर परी के लिए है। उसी वक्त बूढ़ी औरत सुनदर परी में बदल गयी और उसने छोटी बहन को श्राप दिया।
यह कि वह जब भी बोलेगी उसके मुँह से कीड़े मकोड़े निकलेंगे और वही हुआ। यह देख कर उसे घर से भी निकाल दिया गया। इसलिए कहते हैं लालच नहीं करना चाहिए और सबकी मदद करनी चाहिए।

बहनों की कहानी in english
Two sisters lived in a small village. One very intelligent and the other very finicky. The elder sister was very hardworking, very kind, used to help everyone. On the other hand the younger sister was arrogant. One day the elder sister went to the river to get water, there she saw that an old woman was suffering from thirst for water.
Seeing this, the elder sister felt very pity and gave her the water she had filled. Suddenly that old lady turned into a very beautiful angel and she gave a boon to the elder sister, whenever you say something, diamonds and pearls will fall from your mouth. Hearing this, the elder sister was very happy and as soon as she started speaking, diamonds and pearls started falling from her mouth.
Seeing this, the family members were very happy and started loving the elder sister very much. Seeing this, the younger sister started getting jealous of the elder sister and started to find out how it happened. The elder sister told that she was given a boon by an angel. Hearing this, the younger sister got greedy and she also went out to fill water on the bank of the river but she did not see any angel there.
He saw the same old woman who was thirsty for water. He asked for water from the younger sister but he insulted the woman and refused to give water and said that this water is for the beautiful angel. At the same time the old lady turned into a beautiful fairy and she cursed the younger sister.
Whenever she spoke, worms would come out of her mouth and the same thing happened. Seeing this, he was also thrown out of the house. That is why it is said that one should not be greedy and should help everyone.
